About Team Fourteen

Who We Are:

Team Fourteen (T14) is a group of outreach mental health counselors and caseworkers who help adolescents and their families who have concerns around substance use.

Julie, our case manager, explains more about the T-14 program.

What We Do:

We use a style of treatment called A-CRA, which stands for the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach. The objective of A-CRA and T14 is to support youth in developing a healthy lifestyle that makes them feel motivated to take good care of themselves and their loved ones.

At T14, we help youth to reduce their substance use, improve relationships with family and friends and discover new fun things to do.

T14 is a family-centered treatment, so we work closely with caregivers and guardians of youth who are using substances. We know that loved ones have great influence over an adolescent’s behavior and we help caregivers learn to make that power work for them.

By asking caregivers to make small changes themselves, we support guardians in increasing their own happiness. Through family sessions, we also work with guardians and adolescents together to improve family relationships as well as determine the best way a guardian can help his or her adolescent to reduce the youth’s substance use.

Who We Serve:

We work with adolescents age 12–25 and their caregivers who live on the North Shore of Boston.
